FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Whether this is your first tattoo or you're adding to an existing collection, we want you to feel comfortable and confident throughout the entire process. Below are answers to some of the questions we hear most often.

If you don't see your question here, feel free to reach out to us directly.

BOOKING & APPOINTMENTS

How do I book a tattoo?

The easiest way to book is to contact the artist you'd like to work with. You can browse our artists and their portfolios to find someone whose style matches your idea.

When reaching out, include as much information as possible about your tattoo, including the design, placement, approximate size, and any reference images you have.

For larger or more detailed projects, your artist may recommend starting with a consultation.

Do you accept walk-ins?

Walk-ins are welcome when availability allows. However, appointments are recommended, especially for larger or custom tattoos.

Our artists' schedules can change throughout the day, so we recommend contacting the shop before stopping by to check for current availability.

Is a deposit required?

A deposit may be required to reserve your appointment.

Deposits are applied toward the final cost of your tattoo. Please keep in mind that deposits are generally non-refundable and may be forfeited if our appointment policies are not followed.

Your artist will go over the deposit and cancellation policy when your appointment is scheduled.

Can I schedule a consultation?

Absolutely. Consultations are a great way to discuss your ideas, placement, sizing, references, and overall vision with your artist.

If you're unsure which artist is the best fit for your project, we're happy to help point you in the right direction.

Do you do cover-ups?

Yes! Cover-ups are something we are happy to discuss.

Because every existing tattoo is different, an in-person consultation is often the best way to determine what is possible. Your artist can evaluate the existing tattoo and recommend an appropriate design, size, placement, and style.

PRICING & PAYMENT

How much does a tattoo cost?

There isn't one set price for every tattoo. Cost depends on several factors, including:

  • Size

  • Placement

  • Detail and complexity

  • Color or black & grey

  • Artist

  • Estimated time required

  • Whether the project requires multiple sessions

Small and straightforward tattoos may be quoted at a flat rate, while larger custom work is often priced by the hour or by session.

Your artist will discuss pricing with you before the tattoo begins.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept:

  • Cash

  • Major credit and debit cards

  • Cash app, Zelle, Apple pay, etc… depending on artist.

Payment is due at the completion of your session unless other arrangements have been made in advance.

STUDIO SAFETY & POLICIES

How clean and sterile is the shop?

Your safety is extremely important to us.

Our artists follow professional sanitation and sterilization procedures designed to maintain a clean and safe tattooing environment. Single-use needles and disposable supplies are used when applicable, and work surfaces and equipment are properly cleaned and disinfected between clients.

We take cleanliness seriously from the moment you arrive until your session is complete.

Can I bring someone with me?

We understand that having a friend or family member along can make your experience more comfortable.

However, space around tattoo stations is limited. For everyone's safety and comfort, we may limit the number of guests allowed in the tattooing area.

Please check with the shop before bringing a larger group.

How old do I have to be to get tattooed?

Age requirements vary depending on local laws and our shop policies.

You must provide valid identification when required. If you are under the age of 18, additional documentation and/or parental or legal guardian consent may be required depending on applicable law.

Please contact us before booking if you have questions about age requirements or required documentation.

GETTING READY FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT

How should I prepare for my tattoo?

A little preparation can make a big difference in your tattoo experience.

Before your appointment, we recommend:

Eat a good meal.
Have a substantial meal before your appointment so you aren't tattooing on an empty stomach.

Stay hydrated.
Drink plenty of water before and during your appointment.

Get some rest.
Coming in well-rested can make longer sessions much easier.

Wear comfortable clothing.
Choose clothing that provides easy access to the area being tattooed and won't be difficult to move around during your session.

Bring something to keep you occupied.
Headphones, music, a movie, or another quiet distraction can make longer sessions more enjoyable.

Can I drink alcohol before getting tattooed?

We recommend arriving completely sober.

Alcohol can affect your body's response to tattooing and may increase bleeding. For your safety and the quality of your tattoo, please avoid alcohol before your appointment.

If you arrive visibly intoxicated, your artist may refuse to perform the tattoo.

Can I take pain medication before my appointment?

Talk to your healthcare provider if you have questions about medications and tattooing.

Avoid taking medication specifically to prepare for tattoo pain unless it has been discussed with your healthcare provider. Some medications can affect bleeding or other aspects of the tattooing process.

Can I use numbing cream?

Some clients choose to use topical numbing products, but not every product is appropriate for tattooing.

If you're considering numbing cream, talk with your artist before your appointment. Certain products can affect the skin and potentially change how the tattooing process goes.

Never apply a product to the tattoo area without first discussing it with your artist.

THE TATTOO PROCESS

Can I see my tattoo design before my appointment?

This depends on the artist and the type of tattoo you're getting.

Many artists prepare custom designs close to the appointment so they can make adjustments based on placement, sizing, and the client's body.

If you have specific concerns about your design, discuss them with your artist before your appointment.

Can I make changes to my design?

We want you to be happy with your tattoo.

If you have changes or concerns about your design, communicate them with your artist before the tattoo begins. Significant changes may require additional design time or a rescheduled appointment.

How long will my tattoo take?

Every tattoo is different.

Your artist can give you a better estimate based on the size, placement, detail, and style of your project. Larger pieces may require multiple appointments.

AFTERCARE

How do I take care of my new tattoo?

Your artist will provide specific aftercare instructions based on your tattoo and the type of bandage used.

In general, you should:

  • Keep your tattoo clean.

  • Wash it gently with clean hands and mild, fragrance-free soap.

  • Pat it dry rather than rubbing it.

  • Apply a thin layer of recommended moisturizer or aftercare product.

  • Avoid picking, scratching, or peeling the tattoo.

  • Keep the tattoo out of direct sunlight while it is healing.

  • Avoid swimming, soaking, hot tubs, and baths until the tattoo has healed.

Healing times vary from person to person.

Is peeling or itching normal?

Yes. As your tattoo heals, it is normal for the skin to become dry, itchy, or flaky.

Do not scratch, pick, or peel the tattoo. Allow the skin to shed naturally.

If you notice symptoms that seem unusual or are getting worse, contact a medical professional.

When can I go swimming?

Avoid swimming and soaking your tattoo while it is healing.

This includes pools, hot tubs, baths, lakes, oceans, and other bodies of water where the tattoo may be submerged.

Your artist can give you more specific guidance based on your tattoo and healing progress.

Will my tattoo fade?

All tattoos naturally change over time.

Sun exposure is one of the biggest contributors to fading, so once your tattoo is completely healed, protect it with sunscreen and keep your skin moisturized.

Proper long-term care can help your tattoo maintain its appearance for years.
